H. P. Lovecraft
Initially rejected by Lovecraft's publisher, 'At The Mountains of Madness' is now considered a classic of the horror genre. The disturbing, nightmarish story of a journey through Antarctica and a discovery of secrets hidden in a frozen mountain range has influenced writers and film-makers for decades.

"I have to say that I've read some other stories by H. P. Lovecraft and I didn't really like or understand them.........but I decided to give this book a chance.....I became obssessed with this book.........I could not put it down.........I ended up dreaming about it and pondering on it and checking the web for any info on it........I hope they finally do come out with a movie version just to see what their interpretation of it would be.......what a fascinating yet a bit disturbing book!!! I'm glad I took a chance on it........I loved it!!!...."

"The premise was really good, and I wanted this book to be better so bad. The writing was clunky and arduous. The story felt long for no reason. Rather than taking the time to really emphasize exciting moments, they felt rushed through, and like the predominant part of the story was traveling I would not recommend this book even the ending, which is what I was holding out for wasn’t that great. This book had so much potential that it did not live up to. The illustrations were the most redeemable part of the story. I would not recommend, but I’m not mad that I read it."
