Kasie West
In this irresistible story, Kasie West explores the timeless question of what to do when you fall for the person you least expect. Witty and romantic, this paperback original from a fan favorite is perfect for fans of Stephanie Perkins and Morgan Matson.Autumn Collins doesn’t let anyone get close. She can’t tell anyone about her anxiety, especially not Jeff—he’d never be her boyfriend if he knew. But then she gets trapped in the library, instead of making it up the mountain to a bonfire with Jeff and her friends. And she isn’t alone: Dax Miller got locked in, too. With tattoos and a juvie record and a constant scowl, Dax isn’t exactly helping Autumn feel any better. She’s sure Jeff will realize that he left her behind and come racing back to rescue her, any minute now.Only he doesn’t come. No one does—instead, a snowstorm blows into town and the temperature plummets. Autumn tries to stay calm. As she and Dax trade secrets, forage for vending machine food, and huddle together for warmth, Autumn realizes she may not survive the weekend if she doesn’t let Dax get close. And to her surprise, she may want him to.

"4.75 -

I really enjoyed rereading this one. I was actually searching for this type of story and I'm glad I found it.

The story felt more like a slice of life than a romance most likely because of how realistic it is. I would describe it as sweet with real life problems. I thought the pacing was well done.

I did like the main character but I didn't like the "everybody is my friend or likes me" attitude she had for a long part of the story. I do wish that the author explained her anxiety better because it was how I connected to her and how it was described was vague.

The love interest was pretty well done. I liked the way the author had him react to the main character over time.

The writing was good and felt pretty satisfying to me. One thing that she might need to fix (I'm not for sure on this) is her descriptions. She has a lot of character thoughts, which was good, but didn't include brief scene descriptions.

Enjoyable and a good "stuck in the library" read."
"I actually melted reading this, like it's everything I wanted and more in a cute package. I'm sorry the cover put me off for so long!"
