Freida McFadden
A brand new psychological thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden! The nightmare she's running from is nothing compared to where she's headed. Tegan is eight months pregnant, alone, and desperately wants to put her crumbling life in the rearview mirror. So she hits the road, planning to stay with her brother until she can figure out her next move. But she doesn't realize she's heading straight into a blizzard. She never arrives at her destination. Stranded in rural Maine with a dead car and broken ankle, Tegan worries she's made a terrible mistake. Then a miracle occurs: she is rescued by a couple who offers her a room in their warm cabin until the snow clears. But something isn't right. Tegan believed she was waiting out the storm, but as time ticks by, she comes to realize she is in grave danger. This safe haven isn't what she thought it was, and staying here may have been her most deadly mistake yet. And now she must do whatever it takes to save herself--and her unborn child. A gut-wrenching story of motherhood, survival, and twisted expectations, #1 New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden delivers a snowbound thriller that will chill you to the bone.

"Very quick read good as well "

"I normally like most Freida McFadden books, but this was awful. It was redundant, poor dialogue, what you originally think will be the plot is not (honestly, the actual plot is not particularly interesting and i could see it from a mile away), and the characters irritated me. Had it only been from one POV, it would’ve been better. Adding the second gave away the whole thing, so it really wasn’t a thriller. I don’t like how the antagonist effectively gets away with everything, either. I know not every story has the perfect ending, but it felt wildly unrealistic after everything we were put through in the book. Some people thought the FMC was well-developed, but I disagree. She had a one-track mind about who was the antagonist and it felt very cliche. The others were very basic and stereotypical. I also found it annoying that they all made inferences about each other’s motivations with zero nuance written in. Extremely disappointed and I wish I could get my time back. "
"Honestly wasn’t sure how I would feel about this one because a coworker said I wasn’t going to like it! However I was pleasantly wrong, the whole book I was just engrossed and thoroughly confused as to what was going to happen next! I wasn’t a huge fan of the characters in this book however. Not really sure why but I didn’t relate with any of them, it’s not that I didn’t care about them but idk maybe a little 😂 over all Frieda did her thang maybe not one of the best ones but it’s a nice quick read that keeps you guessing!"
