"4.5 Stars rounded to 5
Cover 2.5 Stars

WWTQ: Does what happens in Dublin stay in Dublin?

Answer: Yup. Looks like.

I went into this pretty blind. It was a free Kindle book of the month promotion and I was here for it. It's angsty and moody. The twists aren't obvious, even if I guessed it. This is one of those mysteries where the reader is privy to more information than the MC. We get POVs from past Ali and present Ali, as well as the unnamed killer.

Because we have the POV of the killer, it makes a lot of Ali's sleuthing chapters a little unnecessary, but they were still fun. I liked how the author kept the circle of characters very narrow so we had fleshed-out side characters that fulfilled their purpose without seeming contrived.

I'd definitely pick up another book by Catherine Ryan Howard."

"When Alison Smith started college she had very little dating experience and when she met the dashing Will Hurley during her first year at St. John's College in Dublin she was swept off her feet for the first time. From the outside her life looked perfect. She was attending a prestigious school in Dublin with her best friend, she was meeting new people and had an amazing boyfriend. Then everything began to fall apart.

Her freshman year experience was a little abnormal as other freshman women around her began dropping like flies thanks to a serial killer dubbed the Canal Killer who would later be known as Dublin's most prolific killer. Everyone thinks it can't happen to them, but the unthinkable happens when her best friend, Liz, becomes the latest victim of the serial killer and the last call Liz ever made was to Alison's boyfriend, Will.

The book picks up years later after the fall out of Liz's murder and we get to see what happened back then through flashbacks, while in the present time Alison is set on discovering whether the new murders so eerily similar to that of the Canal Killer are from a copycat or if the man in jail is actually an innocent man.

The Liar's Girl is set to be released on February 27th, 2018 and I can't wait to see what you all think! Personally, I love a good mystery and the twist ending definitely had me wanting more! I loved how Alison is completely relatable and you could easily put yourself in her shoes. I wish we had learned a little bit more about the character's that made up this world like her new best friend or more about what was going on in Liz's head. Alison and Liz are definitely what you would call frenemies and from the outside most people don't understand why Alison stays friends with sometimes mean girl, Liz. I would have loved to see more of their moments together and been able to get a little more into Liz's head, but that's just the sign of good writing!

From the very beginning, you'll be enthralled as Alison and Will's story unfolds. I know that I couldn't put it down! If you like the mystery and thriller genre check out The Liar's Girl when it comes out next February. You won't regret it!

Disclaimer: I was provided with a free copy of The Liar's Girl, but all opinions are my own.

As written on http://buddhabellyweb.com/2017/10/21/book-nook-liars-girl/"
