"4.25/5 ⭐️ Dual POV and available on KU. I have only read a couple Sophie Lark books but her writing is great! The pacing of this one is so good and she writes with amazing description. I would definitely check trigger warnings with this one! It’s DARK but I loved it. It teeters on the edge of to much for me but some how it was right in the line and I devoured it. It’s god spice for sure but it’s actually a pretty slow burn and there is definitely more content than strictly spice. I’d say it’s like a 3.5/5 spice level but that might be generous. The spice in there is very spicy though! I really liked that the book came with a playlist and when to listen to each song and I also really like that her books have illustrations every once in a while although some of the ones in this book were not completely accurate according to the scene which bothered me at times. If you’re looking for something dark on KU I’d recommend this. It’s a duology and the first one ends open ended to I’m looking forward to the second book. "
"*Slight spoilers* If you're looking for a good stalker romance...this isn't it. This reminded me more of the show "You," rather than a book like "Haunting Adeline." This is definitely more of a thriller than a romance. Mara and Cole only get together at around the 90% point in the book, and they only do because Cole made a split decision not to kill her. He was planning on killing Mara throughout the entire book, and I honestly felt no spark or tension like most romance books have. I think the author wanted there to be that spark but there really wasn't any romance until the end of the book. I gave it three stars, however, because it was intriguing and I never felt the need to put it down due to boredom. The writing was good, but this definitely should not be called a romance, if anything it's a thriller with a subplot of romance. "
"Like I hated, HATED, how the author explains why the hell Cole and Alastair is the way they are. Like I’m confused why they kill for art. 😐 Anyways, romance was great. I guess. OHH HO HO HO the paint and canvas scene. I don’t like the writing style much. I sat reading this book with a “😐” face but it was still a page turner. 😪. Dark Romances scares me 🥴🫣. "
"What the **** did I subject myself to. It was definitely a page turner 😶"

So I just finished there are no saints…it’s literally about a rich controlling psychopath obsessing over a poor girl with a strong will. How do they cross paths? They’re both artist. That’s the best way to put it.
I was very captivated by Coles character at first, however, as time went on, I found him quite annoying. He’s entitled and gets annoyed by the tiniest things. Even at the fact that Mara is poor….
And then there’s Mara. I like how Mara is hardworking and pushes through her life obstacles but I think she’s a bit too accepting of Coles behaviors. But because Cole is so obsessive over her, she feels seen in a way she hasn’t before…so I can understand her behavior but it irks me a tad.
I’ve just finished the book and I’m debating if the second book is even worth it. But I’ll give it a try only because I want to see if Mara will leave this man.
If you’re looking for something dark, quick, slightly intriguing, look into it, I say give it a try "
"Got to know the characters very well. And the CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT is absolutely crazy!!"
