"Babygirl (2024) - ★½ A24’s Babygirl is an infuriating letdown that assaults you from the jump—sex sounds over the A24 logo? Wildly off-putting. Nicole Kidman’s Romy, a CEO cheating on her husband, Jacob (Antonio Banderas), with a cocky intern, Samuel (Harris Dickinson), is a trainwreck I couldn’t root for. Seeing Banderas, always the suave hero, cuckolded by some white kid half his age? Drake voice “Embarrassing “. Both leads are despicable, the soft-P***vibes are cringe, and some scenes were so awkward I nearly bolted. Kidman’s gutsy at 56, but why this role? This was painful to sit through, and I’m still asking, “What the hell did I watch?” One star for her commitment, half for the sheer nerve."
