"This sci-fi movie really has some good potential to be something great, but instead it was just moderately entertaining. I wouldn't say that it was a bad movie, it just didn't live up to its potential. There were scenes where it built up some good edge of your seat uncertainty and excitement, I just hoped for more. Anthony Mackie and Morena Baccarin do a fine job in their respective roles, but I felt that the dialogue was a bit lacking. The alien/monster design was pretty impressive, they achieved a menacing look to them. It's a quick watch at just around an hour and a half. I doubt that there would be a sequel, nor do I think that there's a need for one. 7/10"
"The plot seemed like it had potential, but after watching this movie I have no more answers than before. This movie wasn't anything it said it would be (thrilling, scary, emotional). The only part I liked was the Colorado scenery (I'm from Colorado). The dialogue was weak, full of blaring plot holes, and uninteresting. I typically like these actors a lot because I think they're talented, but the movie didn't showcase this talent at all and made them seem like B-list actors. The alien threat in this makes very little sense and isn't explained at all. I didn't really empathize with the characters and therefore didn't worry when they were in danger. I even found several characters kind of annoying. Overall, I didn't gain anything from watching this. It had potential but is basically a far more shallow, less interesting, less action-packed A Quiet Place. "
