"(2000) “It’s like heaven…right here on earth. Maybe that’s what heaven is. Maybe we go thru life collecting people and places we love. And they become our heaven.”
This is a movie that still makes me sniffle every time I watch it. It's about a summer romance between Kel (Chris Klein) and Sam (Leelee Sobieski), but it's the quiet heartbreak of Jasper (Josh Hartnett) that really stays with you. I loved watching the chemistry between Sam and Kel develop, their laughter and adventures feeling like the perfect summer fling. But for me, the real heart of the movie is Jasper… who’s unrequited love is both beautiful and bittersweet. I remember watching this movie for the first time and feeling like I was right there with Jasper, feeling every ounce of his pain and longing. He just genuinely wanted her to be happy, so he took a step back and sacrificed his own feelings. This was the role where I first fell in love with Josh Hartnett.
It has a gentle pace that feels perfectly suited to the story. It's about the complexities of love and relationships, how sometimes the hardest thing to do is let go and a reminder that love isn't always easy or straightforward. Does Sam ultimately pick Kel or Jasper? You will have to watch it to find out. Be sure to grab some tissues! 7.5/10"
"This movie was disappointing. I could not stand the three leads. All their characters were varying degrees of despicable. I usually wouldn’t care, but it ruined the story for me. The ending is sad, but how can I care if I don’t like the characters. If you can look past it and pretend you don’t see it, then go ahead, but if not, then you’ve been warned."

"I wish I can give this half a star as this was by far the worst romance movie I've ever watched. The two main love interests (Sam and Kelly) are the most unlikable couple. There was so much emotional and physical cheating in this movie to the point where I was angry. Josh Harnett is the best character and the only redeemable quality to watch this movie. Truly awful"
"Sweet!"
