The story of the Buckman family and friends, attempting to bring up their children. They suffer/enjoy all the events that occur: estranged relatives, the 'black sheep' of the family, the eccentrics, the skeletons in the closet, and the rebellious teenagers.

"(1989) Parenthood is a classic 80's movie directed by Ron Howard that follows the Buckman family as they navigate the ups and downs of family life. The cast is incredible, with Steve Martin, Mary Steenburgen, Dianne Wiest, Jason Robards, Rick Moranis, Tom Hulce, Keanu Reeves, Martha Plimpton, and Joaquin Phoenix. The cast's comedic chemistry is fantastic, and their performances bring the story to life.
Parenthood nails the chaos of family life. The Buckmans face some real struggles, and it makes for a surprisingly honest portrayal. From tantrums and teenage angst to parental guilt and financial stress, the film doesn't shy away from the messy reality of raising a family. They may be a semi-dysfunctional family, but they're relatable and lovable, and their antics will have you cringing and laughing in equal measure. With its talented cast, witty script, and honest portrayal of family life, Parenthood is a classic comedy that still holds up today.
The story continues in a TV series of the same name, which picks up a few years after the movie and follows the Buckman family as they face new challenges and adventures. 8/10"
