"Finally a movie about Nat Turner. They have small short documentaries out there but not much about Nat’s evolution . This was a great take on what brought him to rebelling. Most stories only focus on the alleging of him killing women and children, or portrayed him as the angry black man that killed all the slave owners. Never the “why”. Even this was hard to find. I’m almost 10 years late. Unless you are actively looking for historical black documentaries, you will never see any. I teach at a school, and that one of the children knew who Nat Turner, John Brown, Harriet, Beecher Stowe.. was . They only know about Martin Luther King because of the day off from school . They don’t even show the Original series of Roots on TV anymore. You have to purchase each and every episode if you want to see it. When I was growing up, they would show the Marathon every Christmas. "
