"This is a very average movie, but was very much a regular holiday movie when I was a kid. Every year, I would watch it. And every year, I would have nightmares. Took me years to connect the dots. Basically, a totally average Christmas movie that takes a hard swing out of nowhere during the last 5-10 minutes. Not nearly as scary as I remember it being, but it still comes out of nowhere with no buildup or foreshadowing at all. Overall, a passable Christmas movie, but your kids might be a bit traumatized at the end"
