The Smashing Machine

"As an MMA fan and a cinephile, this movie was a match made in heaven. The Rock's portrayal of Mark Kerr was spot on and is his best role ever. The rest of the cast did great and loved that a majority of the cast are fighters themselves, making it feel documentary-like. The camera work was also great, further establishing that documentary-like feel of the film. The problem with this film is its pacing and writing. The pacing felt very slow in the 2nd act and I wish the writing dove deeper into Kerr's background prior to getting into MMA. Its not the best sports movie I've seen, but its the best MMA movie I've ever seen."
