"I really wanted to like this. A series about a 13 foot tall young black man who's been hidden away from the world for most of his life, sounded massively intriguing. But it's just too strange, and people's reactions to seeing him for the first time was too unrealistically acceptable. I was only able to hang in there for about three episodes before giving up, I didn't care for the direction it took. It's not what I was expecting. 4/10"
"The capitalist critique in this show alone makes it a must watch. I just found it sad that Boots had to inject so much weirdness around that message in order to get that message out through this medium but Boots did do a pretty good job in getting the message out, just like he did in his other highly trippy feature “Sorry To Bother You”. I definitely recommend this to anyone that is interested in left leaning concepts and ideas."
"Warning: THIS SHOW IS WEIRD/GOOFY AS S**T!!
Anything by Boots Riley is bound to be weird as heck but has a deeper message behind his projects that happen to draw everyone. This show is no different and I like it. A bit on the nose but good concept touching on how America has shaped its negative, racist view on African American men. I thoroughly enjoyed the performances by the main cast, especially Jerome Jharell and Denzel Washington's daughter. The humor in itself was unique in its own way and was not too overbearing. My only gripe is that there were a lot of things left unanswered and the finale was a little anticlimactic. Besides that, I recommend watching this while on shrooms or any psychedelic. "
