"4.5 / 5

I REALLY liked this book - both characters are just looking for acceptance and love. They both want that "big family feeling" and be surrounded by people who would do anything for them. My heart bled for Lawrence because he was put in the situation of being borderline-destitute by his father with his gambling issues. He has to sell almost everything he owns to make ends meet (later on, he sells these things to spoil Chloe, which is ADORABLE) and he's somewhat forced into a bad situation of having to ask a woman he doesn't love (who is in love with Tommy / Thomasina which sets up the next book - YAY!) and he fights against it for Chloe.

While the "will they or won't they" of the betrothal was definitely a conflict, I wish there was a little bit more of the conflict from Mrs. York and the 3rd act conflict went just a LITTLE longer. I felt it wrapped itself up too quickly for my liking - I wanted more.

All in all, an ADORABLE book, an adorable adopted Wynchester (*swoon*) and a great series! I still want to be a Wynchester!"
