"4/5 ⭐️ I think I’ve come to accept that this is a four star series for me (though not every installment has to have that rating). This world and these characters have just become such a comfort read for me, and I love the entertaining mix of a historical, mystery, and romance. The plot this time leaned into the fun of our lead having to pretend to be another person while trying to solve a murder. While the plot got a little too political and definitely over the top for my taste, it was still a good time. I also liked that this specific installment toned down a bit of the shock value elements that some of these books include. The leads were also wrestling with a conflict that felt a bit like one they had already dealt with, but I still loved them and the ways they supported each other. I’m excited to continue with this series this year but am also a bit concerned that there aren’t too many books left until I am caught up with the most recent one…"
