"I DNF’d this book at 60%, and honestly, I should have quit earlier. The biggest issue? It was too damn long for no reason. I don’t mind long books when the story justifies it, but this one dragged with bad pacing and unnecessary filler. I even took a four-week break, hoping I’d come back with fresh eyes, but nope—it was still a struggle.

The male lead had zero character development. His entire personality was just broody and grumpy, and all he ever thought about was sex. There was no depth to his relationship with the female lead—just sexual attraction, nothing that actually made me believe he loved her. It felt like there was no emotional build-up between them.

And then there’s the whole workplace romance dynamic, which was a mess. A producer dating his actress? A clear power imbalance, and it made total sense why people in the book questioned it. He already had a reputation for dating his female co-stars, so why not just wait until the movie was done? But no—he couldn’t keep it professional, and when people found out, it was like… What did you think was going to happen?

One of the few things I actually liked was the audiobook narration—especially the added music and the way it was performed. That part was well done. But outside of that? Nope.

And don’t even get me started on the family betrayal subplot. The fact that the main character was expected to forgive her sister and ex-childhood sweetheart after they betrayed her? Hell no. Some things are just unforgivable, and I hated how the book pushed the idea that she needed to make peace with it.

In the end, I couldn’t force myself to keep going. This one just wasn’t for me. DNF at 60%."
"Neevah and Canon were so gorgeous together. This is a forbidden romance due to the female mc being an actor and the male mc being the director of the movie she’s starring in. I loved this storyline, as far as Neevah’s sister.. she could kick rocks, idc if she redeemed herself at the end of the book she still gotta catch this fade, that’s the type of thing you cannot come back from and her mother is just as guilty for enabling that mess that her daughter indulged in. Canon honey, you’re doing great babe ! You are the man that Neevah deserves, you showed her what love really is and I wanna thank you so much for that. You helped & loved her through her struggles and that’s the type of love that everybody should experience. 🥹💕"
