"I was approved from NetGalley for a honest review.

My Rating: 3.5/5 Stars
This was quite a departure from my usual reading choices, but I ended up enjoying this book. The main reason why I decided to pick it up was because of polandbananasBOOKS from Youtube. I trust her chooses in books, so I though why not give it a shot and let go from my comfortable zone. While the book did have some flaws, the plot was exciting and got me interested in picking up the second book. I’m not sure when that going to be is, but I know in the mid future.

I really liked the characters, they were mysterious and compelling. You just did not know what they will do next. And when you thought that you had completely got to know them, they would surprise you. My only concern about this book is the relationship. I would like it better if the writer would’ve focus it more on the mystery. I understand that its only the first in a series, but why could we have more of Rebecca. She was the main reason why I continue with this book because I wanted to know more about her. In this point I’m scared that she might be dead! I have a feeling that Chris knows more about Rebecca than we think we do. I’m not sure why but don’t trust the two male characters: Chris and Mark. I’m getting the idea that they both have a history with Rebecca. One of them is the real reason why Rebbeca is gone. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m not. I guess the only way to find out is to read the next book in the series.
I hope in the next, the story will improve and be clearer, and give answers to the questions I have.
"
"Maybe because everyone had said how great this book was, I set my expectations too high, and that's why I was disappointed with it. Unfortunately I found it way too long, A lot of the plot points were not believable or out of character. However, as always, Lynn Austin does an amazing job of making you feel like you are right there in the scene. Her descriptions of the war and what her characters had to go through is astounding and heart-wrenching."
