"Reading Hideaway is like a mini vacation, as Roberts transports you from the sun-drenched mountains of Big Sur to the rolling hills of Ireland to the bustling streets of New York City." - Associated Press A family ranch in Big Sur country and a legacy of Hollywood royalty set the stage for Nora Roberts’ emotional new suspense novel, Hideaway.Caitlyn Sullivan had come from a long line of Hollywood royalty, stretching back to her Irish immigrant great-grandfather. At nine, she was already a star—yet still an innocent child who loved to play hide and seek with her cousins at the family home in Big Sur. It was during one of those games that she disappeared. Some may have considered her a pampered princess, but Cate was in fact a smart, scrappy fighter, and she managed to escape her abductors. Dillon Cooper was shocked to find the bloodied, exhausted girl huddled in his house—but when the teenager and his family heard her story they provided refuge, reuniting her with her loved ones.Cate’s ordeal, though, was far from over. First came the discovery of a shocking betrayal that would send someone she’d trusted to prison. Then there were years spent away in western Ireland, peaceful and protected but with restlessness growing in her soul. Finally, she would return to Los Angeles, gathering the courage to act again and get past the trauma that had derailed her life. What she didn’t yet know was that two seeds had been planted that long-ago night—one of a great love, and one of a terrible vengeance...

"Well, this was fine. It could have been a whole section shorter, which would have prevented it from dragging in the middle, but I liked it. The family dynamics were great, and the romance was fairly believable, all things considered. But regardless I’ll keep reading Nora’s books, they are the ultimate comfort read for me!"

"Nora Roberts tells the most amazing stories. This one is about a family of actors that is multi-generational. It all starts with a kidnapping..... A tale of intrigue and love! #drama #love #best"

"So.. I've just finished reading my advanced reader copy of Hideaway, courtesy of a Goodreads giveaway, thank you Goodreads, and I can say with all honesty I will definitely be reading this book again. And while I can't say it's my favorite Nora Roberts read, it was definitely an enjoyable one.

Like several of Nora's other books, like The Witness and The Obsession, and most similarly Public Secrets, this book spans the years from child to adult with the Heroine and the Hero and I enjoyed watching the progression of the characters as the grew throughout the story.

Positive points: (a few of them anyways)
* There are some really great, well written, and entertaining characters
* It made me tear up a couple of times (not sob like I did with Shelter in Place, but I did have to reach for a tissue to sop up a couple tears) And I'm my opinion, any book that can stir up enough emotion to bring about tears is a good one
* It also made me laugh out loud several times
* It was 454 pages (I love a nice long book lol)

Negative Points:
* I felt like the ending was a little rushed
* It also felt like some of the story was missing.. In the story the Hero's father was killed when he was little but not much was said about it and what little is said doesn't give you a full picture about what happened
* And I don't know if it's just because this was an ARC, but there seems to be some editing issues and typos..
For example "She woke up scared, but... resilience" .. Shouldn't that be "resilient." ..
And there's a cow named Bossie, that I'm pretty sure should be Bessie

Otherwise it was a good book that I'm glad to have read and it will have a permanent place in my home library.

Thanks Nora for another entertaining read!"
