"I only made it to around 83%. I just can't take anymore. This has sat on my nightstand for far too long without making any real progress. Two weeks or so. That is a bad sign.

I liked this up until the big reveal. Which came early. First half deals with the idea of keeping things secret from Emma, the second half (ish) is more about finding a way to control her at every turn to make sure she doesn't give away any secrets (other than the ones she has unwittingly written about). This book went from 3ish stars to 1.

Emma doesn't have a backbone. The resistance she's offered up throughout this book is less than what a limp noodle would give. She caves easily and doesn't expect much of an explanation every time she is forced to do something different. She's just along for the ride even though it's her book tour, not Aidan's. Her life, not Aidan's.

Honestly, if this has focused on keeping Emma in the dark for most of the book, I wouldn't have had a problem. The story beforehand wasn't anything amazing, but it would have been entertaining. I had a problem once things were found out and Emma doesn't freak out (like she should have even if she was fascinated) but instead decides to help Aidan out with his little sex problem (GAG). After the big reveal, it just felt like it was an excuse to get things out in the open so these two could shamelessly ignore all their problems and just act like ***** teenagers. Because of this, the story starts to become stagnant with no clear story progression."
