Sarah Andersen
". . . author Sarah Andersen uses hilarious (and adorable) comics to illustrate the very specific growing pains that occur on your way to becoming a mature, put-together grownup. Andersen’s spot-on illustrations also show how to navigate this newfound adulthood once you arrive, since maturity is equally as hard to maintain as it is to find … "--The Huffington PostSarah valiantly struggles with waking up in the morning, being productive, and dealing with social situations. Sarah's Scribbles is the comic strip that follows her life, finding humor in living as an adulting introvert that is at times weird, awkward, and embarrassing. "This book was good but it did the same things as last time where it shifted format near the end. Her comics certainly make me smile. I just wish that I knew what to expect throughout the whole books. If we are doing comics with personal stories I think I would feel more invested if it was through out the whole book instead of just a one off story. I still think the comics are relatable and for someone looking for a light and fun book about experiencing the world I would recommend. I do plan on reading her new book eventually because I did enjoy this."

"I feel like anyone who has been on the internet has seen Sarah's Scribbles. I know I personally see Sarah Andersen's art absolutely everywhere. I have always related to her comics. They are fun, silly, and sometimes exactly what I needed while feeling low. However, Herding Cats is the first of her comic collections I've read.

Herding Cats is Sarah Andersen's third comic collection. As a cat parent, I was pulled in by the title and stayed when I recognized the art. I loved the comics in this collection. The way Andersen captures emotion with the simple art is amazing. Specifically the way she portrayed fear, anxiety, and anger. It feels like those emotions are drawn with extra chaos that just feel right. She is so good at making little doodles that look the way emotions feel. However, the comics were not my favorite part of this collection.

My favorite part of the comic collection was the "Making Stuff for the Modern Era: A Guide for the Young Creative" section that finishes out the book. Andersen gave so much good advice without shying (too far away) from how ****** the internet has become. She did this all while encouraging artists without any of the negative stuff other people have said. She actively recognized the sensitivity of people with out making it negative. I genuinely love her work and look forward to reading more of it."
"Sarah Andersen is fast becoming one of my favorite comic artists. She has a rich perspective and it comes across fantastically in her drawings. I especially love the advice she provides near the end about the reality of the internet we live with today. I can connect with so many of the strips in this book and many of them were laugh out loud funny. I find myself opening up one of her books frequently when I need a laugh and this one will most definitely make the cut. If you want a hysterical pick me up this book is for you!

Thank you, Netgalley for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review! 😘"
