When Jenine finds an abandoned camera in a lighthouse, she takes a photo for fun. But there's something very, very wrong with the picture: it contains ghosts.Jenine and her best friend, Bree, realise the camera is capable of capturing the dead. But with each new photo taken, the spectres become more aware and more alert, and begin following the friends. Desperate, Jenine seeks the help of a paranormal researcher. He only has bad news, though: they've meddled with something far beyond their control, and the ghosts won't stop... not until Jenine and Bree are dead.

"DNF. I may come back to it, because I really love this author, but the "best friend" was beyond frustrating and annoying. Unrealistic in the fact that she continued to keep secrets from her supposed bff. I cannot stand characters like this. Stopped reading at page 45. I may come back to it. "
"I'm going to start by saying this.. if you read the back cover.. (I don't normally) it does say featuring other novellas. This book is not just Ghost Camera (it's only the first 100 or so pages. ) But I am disappointed. The presentation/promotion (from what I saw and read ) was about Ghost Camera.
Even though I knew what to expect, I didn't know the main story would only be the first 100 or so pages. That in itself was disappointing.
Then the rushed feeling the story had, bummer.
This had the makings of a very good book. Had it had a back story to characters, ghosts and all.
But it didn't. I don't even remember what the plot was, because it jumped into another story so fast. I don't think the novellas were even tied in to the main story. The stories were good. But I understand why people DNF'D or were upset about it.
Why put other novellas into a book when there's so much story that could've been written for the main.
The other novellas were good but.. all I wanted was Ghost Camera to be better than what it was.
I gave this a 2.5 or low 3/5 because it was disappointing.
( Sorry if this was harsh, I still love this author ) but not the best work.

"I was a bit disappointed when I realized this was actually a compilation of stories instead of just one book. Each story was great in it's own way."

"The second time reading this was just as great as the first. I have been wanting a physical copy of this since I first read it years ago and I finally get it. And it's even better because there's even more stories included in it.

I originally read "Ghost Camera" years ago and loved the quick and terrifying story. Years later it still holds up. The story gets right to the point, the characters are lovable, and there are many spooky scenes throughout. Some short stories don't feel complete and may have an open ending but the ending of this story feels perfect.

Each of the additional short stories are intriguing and have those horror themes that Darcy Coates is known for. Some of the stories are super short and some are more of a traditional novella length but no matter the length all of the stories left me with a creepy feeling. The topics range from finding a church in the middle of nowhere with statues in them to finding some creepy VHS tapes in a kid's closet (I'm a sucker for a found footage story). There's something for everyone.

This book is quick to get through and perfect for those looking for short and haunting stories."
