In the class of the high school English teacher she has been haunting, Helen feels them: for the first time in 130 years, human eyes are looking at her. They belong to a boy, a boy who has not seemed remarkable until now. And Helen—terrified, but intrigued—is drawn to him. The fact that he is in a body and she is not presents this unlikely couple with their first challenge. But as the lovers struggle to find a way to be together, they begin to discover the secrets of their former lives and of the young people they come to possess.

"I have mixed feelings about this one. It was entertaining & intriguing enough to keep me turning the pages, but I do have some reservations about it. It would've been better suited for an adult audience, but not because I feel it was too mature or inappropriate for YA readers. The characters were adults (29 & 27, I believe), and I feel like the story would've been more believeable (and probably more effective) if these characters had inhabited (for lack of a better word) adult people instead of high school students...perhaps, college-age students or people similar to the ghosts' original ages. I enjoyed experiencing the "hosts'" lives through James & Helen, and I felt an emotional connection to them. However, they fell in love pretty quickly, which seemed a little too easy, if not forced. I was offended by the stereotyping of the so-called Christian parents & their fellow church members. Young readers might be influenced by that & form the opinion that ALL people of the Christian faith are hypocritical, overbearing fundamentalists, and that is simply untrue. Overall, I enjoyed the book & do not regret reading it."

"Heartbreakingly beautiful. Great chemistry between the main characters."
