"I received an ARC courtesy of the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Overall, this is a solidly good fantasy. Great? Not quite. Parts seem to be a tad rushed and the ending was a bit too abrupt for me. I'm all for mega-happy endings, but I also need to believe it. All that being said, I do think kids will enjoy this book-which looks and reads to be a standalone (something the fantasy genre desperately needs more of for those kids that aren't looking for a series)."
