"This was one of my favorite books as a child, it is often overlooked in favor of Charlotte’s Web, but well worth reading."

"4.5/5 ⭐️ This is such a sweet, whimsical story, and it was one of my favorites when I was younger. It was definitely entertaining to reread as an adult. I know a story about a swan learning to play a trumpet wasn’t going to be a documentary, but the interactions and events were sillier than I remembered. The story takes children seriously and responds to them in ways the real world does not (which I did not register as a kid). It was just a cute reread with funny yet heartwarming characters, and I definitely understood why I liked it growing up. I’m glad that this book largely held up as a reread, and it has me curious to try out some of my other older favorites."
