"This book is so good. I read this book in highschool and have reread it twice and I have every single sequel book. If you like Grusome horror movies,Crime books, and Thriller books. You will absolutely love this book. This whole book has you guessing and thinking about the culprit or culprits of the crime. But Who is the culprit?"
"I liked the premise of the book but I didn’t like how the narrative jumped back and forth. It was hard to follow exactly who was telling the story at times. The S&M twist to me was unnecessary. This book is the first in a series about Detective Inspector Helen Grace so maybe that will be fully explained and fleshed out in other books. Her personality reminded me a bit of Eve Dallas from J.D. Robb’s In Death series. The crimes themselves were interesting. You’re left wondering what would you do if you had to take a life in order to save your own? How would you deal with the consequences of your actions? Was I surprised by who the criminal mastermind was? Um yes and no. There are hints throughout the book and I found myself going back and forth about who I suspected so I did feel compelled to get to the end to see if I was correct."
