At 32, Russell Green has it all: a stunning wife, a lovable six year-old daughter, a successful career as an advertising executive, and an expansive home in Charlotte. In a matter of months, Russ finds himself without a job or a wife, caring for his young daughter while struggling to adapt to a new reality. Throwing himself into the wilderness of single parenting, Russ embarks on a journey at once terrifying and rewarding—one that will test his abilities and his emotional resources beyond anything he's ever imagined. When a chance encounter with an old flame tempts him to take a chance on love again, he navigates this new opportunity with trepidation and wonder. "@chelseawrightreads I just finished reading Verity by Colleen Hoover, the ending was unexpected.... Still trying to process it. The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri is an excellent read, the book is way better than the movie. Hope these help. If you're thinking of reading something written by Nicholas Sparks, the only other books I've read written by him are Something Borrowed and Something Blue. Hope these help with your next read 😊"

"This book is not what you expect when picking up a Nicholas Sparks novel. He is in a loveless marriage for the first half of the book with no romance at all. The repetitiveness drags on. We get it, the wife treats him poorly, we get it. Where is the juicy romance?!"

"Not my favorite book by Nicholas Sparks but it does have a very touching and powerful message behind the book. I struggled with getting into the book but was determined to finish it and after several attempts at the book I finally was able to finish. It doesn't have the same feeling and writing that his other books offer and I think this different style is why I struggled so much with this book."

"This book pulled at my heartstrings. I don't want to have spoilers in this review so I will try my best to give you an edited version of what I thought of this book.
Russell was a pushover and I hated Vivian from the beginning. Vivian is toxic and that **** she pulled towards the end of the book made me want to pummel her to the ground. Then she has the nerve to say that she didn't know about it.... I call bullsh*t. I am a firm advocate that a child needs both a mother and a father in their life. I also believe that the parents should try their best to work it out, as a child is better off with both parents in the house. However, toxic people should not be around your kids (regardless of the title they hold). Your job as a parent is to protect your child (until the can do so themselves) which also means removing them from toxic people/ situations ( even if they hold that family label).
Sorry for the rant...
Other than that I actually thought this was a really cute book. Sparks sure knows how to keep your heart invested in a story.
Worth the read? Yes"
