From #1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Jewell, three women are connected by one man in this kaleidoscopic thriller. He’s the perfect man. It’s a perfect lie. Nina Swann is intrigued when she received a condolence card from Nick Radcliffe, an old friend of her late husband, who is looking to connect after her husband’s unexpected death. Nick is a man of substance and good taste. He has a smile that could melt the coldest heart and a knack for putting others at ease. But to Nina’s adult daughter, Ash, Nick seems too slick, too polished, too good to be true. Without telling her mother, Ash begins digging into Nick’s past. What she finds is more than unsettling… Martha is a florist living in a neighboring town with her infant daughter and her devoted husband, Alistair. But lately, Alistair has been traveling more and more frequently for work, disappearing for days at a time. When Martha questions him about his frequent absences, he always has a legitimate explanation, but Martha can’t share the feeling that something isn’t right. Nina, Martha, and Ash are on a collision course with a shocking truth that is far darker than anyone could have imagined. And all three are about to wish they had heeded the same warning: Don’t let him in. But the past won’t stay buried forever.

"Really intriguing read. I’ve read a lot of Lisa Jewell books and while I wouldn’t say it’s one of her best or the most twisty/gripping/dark, it is interesting. I enjoyed the plot surprises, and very much liked one of the main characters, Ash, because she was so put together and sharp. Unlike her other novels I’ve read, she made the storyline very apparent throughout the book, with subtle reveals throughout. There are alternative POV’s and I’m not one to get confused by that at all usually, but at times it was a little difficult to keep track of the year/period, the names, etc. And I also felt it dragged on a bit much toward the middle/end. The ending however was really satisfying, still love a Lisa Jewell book!! "
"Loved this book. I have to admit it was a little hard to follow in the beginning, but that's kinda what I love about Lisa Jewell books... There comes a point in the reading when it all clicks.
I love the characters in the book, hate the guy (obviously) but I love that I really really hate him. She does a great job provoking emotions.
Def recommend"

"Several women meet the perfect man. He’s a handsome, charming, smart, wealthy businessman. He’s also juggling most of these women simultaneously and is a walking red flag, a jack of no trades, a con artist, and if backed up against the wall, dangerous.

He charms women out of everything they own and moves on to the next victim. By the time most of these women find out what he's done to them, he is long gone, leaving them in heavy debt until he is finally discovered by someone who sees beyond his facade and starts doing some digging...

I know this happens in real life, which I am sure is what inspired this book. Many men and women over time have played their cards with more than one person, getting whatever they wanted when just one partner was not enough. Usually just for sex because they are bored, but some play the field to get more out of it, such as fancy clothes, cars, a nice place to live, etc. This character went over and above, and sometimes when you get greedy, you slip up.

There are several different POV's in this mystery psychological thriller, and the timeline goes back and forth over the years when this man started it all and the people it affected. The audiobook is an all-star cast. I appreciated hearing all the different voices for the characters. Of course, the velvet voice of Richard Armitage voices this playboy very well. I found it interesting to consider what might go through the mind of someone that dubious.

I enjoyed this story; it was a quick, addictive read. I am a fan of Lisa Jewell's books, but I still look at new books by authors with a fresh eye. I assumed I wouldn't be disappointed, and I was correct.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Atria Books for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review."
"4.75 stars (rounded up)

This was my first time reading Lisa Jewell and I was not disappointed.

Don't Let Him In is a domestic thriller that embodies the saying: "If it seems too good to be true, it is." It revolves around multiple POVs and alternate timelines that slowly reveal how three women's lives intersect in a sinister way.

I am impressed by how Jewell gives each character a distinct voice, thereby keeping the reader invested in each of their stories, rather than being confused by the shifting POVs and timelines. Even though I could tell where the story was headed early on, it is a satisfying slow burn to see how the other characters figure it out themselves.

I've heard that Lisa Jewell's books are good but can leave you feeling a bit creeped out, so thankfully I did not get that feeling from this book. In fact, I find the ending quite satisfying, which I'm glad about because some thrillers rely too much on leaving things open ended as an easy way of achieving an extra thrill in the end.

If you've been curious about reading Lisa Jewell but don't want to read a creepy thriller, this would be a great start to her books. Bonus points if you can get this one on audiobook because the different voice actors really immerse you in the story.

Very special thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Don't Let Him In is available everywhere now."

"Read it in one day while packing. It was fine. A great audiobook. But not my favorite by Lisa Jewell. The bad guy was so bad. And for no reason whatsoever. Always give the bad guy a backstory!!"
