"3.5⭐

I had mixed feelings on If I Disappear. It was such an intriguing concept, and I was hooked at the beginning. I was enjoying it for a while, but then it lost steam, and started to feel repetitive. The ending annoyed me, and I feel like this book was trying to hard to be twisty. However, I did still enjoy it for the most part.

CW - killing animals, addiction, suicide, mentions of rape & miscarriage"
"I am super into true crime podcasts, I know this about myself, so it was wild to see a character who had taken their obsession to the next level. This book was so strange but in a good way - I was kinda disappointed by the ending and had to Google it so I could see what other people’s interpretations were, but I would still recommend it!"
"This. Was. Insane.

I love true crime. I listen to Crime Junkie on my commute to and from work. I watch Bailey Sarian’s videos. I’ve been watching Forensic Files, Cold Case Files, and serial killer documentaries for the past 20 years. No horror movies though. Those scare the bejesus out of me.

So, the book. Sera is obsessed with true crime, too. Way more than yours truly. She’s spent the past year doing pretty much nothing other than lock herself in her apartment and listen to her favorite true crime podcast, Murder, She Spoke. When Rachel, the host, stops posting episodes, Sera is afraid something terrible has happened and goes looking for her...with no idea what she’s about to get herself into.

I thought I had this book figured out several times, and I did not. Very impressive.

"
