"⭐️1 I really did try. Got 1/3 of the way through and couldn’t bring myself to finish it. Didn’t quite get a grasp of what was going on. Her husband died and she goes back to this beach house with her kids, only to meet a man from a summer fling back in the day. I dunno, I didn’t quite get the hype over this one. I could have just not understood what the heck was going on, but this is a genre I really love so I was disappointed. But I’ve heard Elin has other good ones out there so I wouldn’t mind trying her writes again. "

"This is the first time I have read a murder mystery where the book ends before they find the killer......can you say FRUSTRATING!!! The book wasn't bad.....it was just very light in speech and characterization. You don't get to know any of the main characters very well....just enough to help you know who is who.....and the romance is fast and almost non-existent. A lot of dead bodies show up and not enough evidence to catch a killer.......so let's just end the book with a picnic on the beach. <br/><br/>I feel like it was a pretty bad ploy at getting one to read further in the series and I'm not sure if I really care enough to really want to spend more time on Ray and his buddies to find the killer of the summer people...."
