"This book is not Lisa's best work.

Don't get me wrong: I LOVED the push & pull between the two main characters. Julia (or Jessica) wanted to stay in hiding because she feared the kind of person that Damon was (and, to some degree, she was correct - he has a domineering personality). She could have easily stayed in hiding, had she not outed herself. I also loved the dynamic with Logan: A "will they or won't they" kind of deal. I think, deep-down, Logan had some semblance of feelings for her but was too insecure to act on them. He did what was right and you "don't get your honey where you get your money" and kept their business just as it was: Business.

I was NOT crazy about Damon - he was a little TOO forceful, both physically and emotionally. He also was a little on the psychotic side, when she made herself scarce as she needed to, he stalked her and found her. Asking her to give up her love (theatre) because it didn't fall into his Stepford wife ideal kind of irritated me and utilizing no end to manipulation tactics to do so. Using carnal relations to push his own agenda (which, hey, isn't the WORST thing in the world but definitely not the time to make huge life decisions) did not sit well with me. The epilogue redeemed Damon a little bit and just barely.

I liked the scene after their "first night" where she just picked her life back up and went on and he's like, "WTF?!" That made me crack up!

Not the best LK, but not the worst either. It was kinda meh."
