"I honestly loved the tv series but I couldn’t be more disappointed with the book. The book had no flow and the details were very confusing, sometimes I couldn’t even tell from whose perspective i was reading from which made it even harder to get attached to the characters and understand their point of view. I usually prefer books over tv series because one gets to understand the background of the character on a much deeper level, reading their thoughts and feelings instead of trying to figure out the plot on tv, but in this case I’d much prefer watching the series instead of reading about it."
"Not too sure where to start or how to even “rate” this book.
It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t one of those you couldn’t put down. The translation from German to English is definitely something that troubled me as I read it. There were parts where I had no clue how to pronounce, and honestly had no idea what was going on. After reading a few paragraphs I would catch up though.

This story really goes into a TON of gruesome details on childhood abuse. Mental and physical.

I mainly wanted to read this before I started watching the TV series. But I’m looking forward to watching the tv show so I can get more details and hopefully not be so confused."
