"First Test, now adapted to graphic novel, is back with a great new adaptation!

Keladry of Mindelan wants to be a knight more than anything in the world. Even when she is made to do a probationary year on top of the four years just to become a knoght. Kel is bullied, beat up and generally unwelcomed but with her steadfast personality of calm, kindness and her efforts to protect the small make her friends and enemies.

The overarching story/plot is still there but some of the extra character building/fluff was scrapped to keep it short and still oh so sweet. One of the best series by Tamora Pierce has a great new start for a new generation with the help of Devin Grayson and illustrator Bekah Farrow. From a fan of the series when it was initially released in print, I think they did an awesome job even if some of the characters weren't quite what I had pictured in my brain from years of reading about them, that stayed true to the source work.

Highly reccomend to young fantasy fans especially young girls are told they can't just because they are a girl."
