"I'm currently reading this 1969 Jean Plaidy book. I've kind of become hooked on reading about Charles II and this historical fiction novel covers the years of his exile following Charles I's execution enforced by Oliver Cromwell. Charles II was in his mid-teens when his father was killed but didn't return to England until he was thirty years old to be officially crowned King of England. It's very fascinating so far as the youngest Stuart sibling had to be smuggled into their mother, Henrietta Maria's, native France at two years old. Louis XIV is also one of the cousins of the Stuart family. "
