"3.75 ⭐️ I was informed that I should read this after ZA 3, but after the cliffhanger that book left me on I was extremely hesitant to start a five book prequel series. While I’m still not yet convinced this reading order is necessary, I did enjoy being back in this world. This book is set 5 years before ZA and takes place at a different school. There are minor references to people in ZA. I am enjoying the murder mystery aspect and love getting Gareth’s POV included in the multiple POV format. I will be continuing this series."

"I ate up the first 3 zodiac academy books in 2 weeks and jumped to these because of a reading order rec. It took me 2 weeks to finish this one. I’m not super interested in this series so far but I’ll give it a chance… just felt like hardly anything happened in this one and I can’t say I feel crazy about any of the love interests either. Hoping it gets more interesting…"

"You could read this knowing nothing about Zodiac Academy and be okay. The references are minimal. The ending isn't just a cliffhanger. It's a dead stop, I turned the page looking for another chapter. I rooted for Elise so hard! And you truly root for all of the guys, too. Well, one more than the rest. I was mad I didn't have the next one on vacation with me."
