"
This is a story about a very tight knit family who has survived a childhood of abandonment together and continues to survive together as adults and learn to resume life and relationships with one another as Tara is released from prison. I loved Tara and her relationships with her siblings/nephew. Geraldine cracked me up. My only real complaint is that I would have liked to see more of a complete ending including their father, maybe a bit more on Geraldine too. I’ve seen this compared to We Are the Brennans a couple times, going to give that one a shot now. 4/5 stars for me. "
"I was so excited to read this book after "We are the Brennans" but I was a little let down. The story is interesting enough and had me finishing this book quickly, however, I didn't love the plot or the characters half as much. The plot doesn't seem plausible, but the story flows easily nonetheless. "

"This book took me almost a month to read because I wanted to savor it like fine wine. I only allowed myself a taste when all my chores were done and I had nothing clouding my mind. This was such a sweet story. I am in love with every character in the story. It was no fairy tale as it addressed real life and struggles that often accompany life and relationships. It was so perfectly created and written. This is one that will stick forever in my heart."
"I liked this book more than I thought I would after the disappointment that it didn't take place in Ireland. Once I got over that, I really enjoyed the storyline and the character development. I only wish that there was a second book because I want to know more of what happens to the supporting characters. I listened to this audiobook through Net Galley for free for an honest review."

"I had heard wonderful things about the author's last book, but never got a chance to read it, so I was thrilled to get the opportunity to read this one. I remember reading somewhere that she writes family drama fabulously, and man were they right!? Tara Connelly is being released from prison after 18 months inside on a drug trafficking charge and she'll be staying with her sister, Geraldine, brother, Eddie, and Eddie's son, whom she has pretty much raised as her own. I was sucked into this book immediately, with its interesting characters and well-woven, complicated backstories. Family secrets and drama at its finest. I also had my own personal moments of recognition, which always makes me love a book, more, when there were many mentions of towns I've lived in or nearby, having grown up in the Hudson Valley myself. So it made it that much more fun to hear so many local mentions! I was touched by this book and found it a tough one to put down!"
