Didn't really like the pandering and constant overstatement. Also for a horror story I didn't feel any urgency, edge of seat thrill or fear at all. Maybe cause of the time frame it was written in 1898, much different time obviously."

"I keep going back and forth on this one.<br/><br/>For a short book, it was still way too long and repetitive. <br/><br/>For a ghost story, it was not scary.<br/><br/>Is it satire? Maybe, but if so, I am not sure that I get the joke. <br/><br/>This one just left me scratching my head. I would rather read Wuthering Heights or Poe again."
