"This quote is when I knew I would love this book:
"I will my body to be a statue, a vessel for the soul within. I allow my mind to glide across those wild mountains, even though I can never go there myself. Even though I will always be a prisoner to castle walls and a woman’s body."
This is giving Acotar vibes but with werewolves. Aurora is always seen and not heard, which is such a relatable trait for a woman. I enjoyed her character arc and can't wait to see Aurora break free of her chains. Callum is rugged and sweet. You know, giving off that golden retriever glow. But then there is Blake. I might be in my late 30s, but I still fall for the baddies. He is a sly cunning bastard and just so irritating you can't stop thinking about him. We all know it makes you hate yourself, but it's too delicious to ignore. His actions are perplexing to the point where I'm going insane. I need to know his story.
I am well aware of my reading addiction. Most people say that as a joke, but I read this book until my eyes bled. Actually, I read it all in a day, then read part of book two till my eyes bled. This author really has my thoughts all twisted up. I want Aurora to dump her boyfriend and choose Blake, and I would like it to happen yesterday. He has such a mystery about him, and I can feel this hurt behind the mask. When I tell you I squealed like a teenager so many times, aaaahhhhh. I'm really loving this world as well. The folk tales about the moon and the night are hauntingly beautiful.
The world building itself is good, too, and very atmospheric. Still Callum is a good Alpha just a bit dumb sometimes but in a cute way. I think this world has just enough deviousness to keep me on the edge of my seat. I'm enjoying reading, but it is also making me itch. Aurora is forgetting herself and how strong she can be. She is also forgetting what she values most and isn't fighting to obtain her freedom."
"Me just giggling at my desk every time a spicy scene started & Shane East (narrator for Callum) basically whispering in my ear. LOL! (I listened to the audiobook) The story was fantastic! Lots of funny banter between the FMC and (I say) TWO MMC’s! It would have been great if Blake had a male narrator also or East voicing him as well. I can’t choose which one I prefer at this moment since I just finished the book! I love both so I am hoping this is a why choose situation! LOL! But I know this is a wolf shifter series so I doubt that will happen. I just want Rory, Callum & Blake to all be together! All of them, a thruple (spelling) if you will!

SPOILERS:
SPOILERS AHEAD FOR MY MEMORY:
It is revealed that James, Callum’s brother, tried to kill Rory after she had killed Sebastian. He bit her and Callum tackled him. Call gets taking down, but Blake tackles James again. They all shift to their human forms. Blake tells Callum to take Rory and run. He does but she’s bleeding out. Blake comes shortly after, knowing full well that she was half wolf, fed her his blood in hopes that her wolf will emerge and start healing her. When she wakes, we find out that Blake and Rory now share a bond where if he/she is hurt, the other will feel it. Since James will want Rory, Callum and Blake dead, Callum decides to challenge his brother for the wolf throne…BUT Blake also wants to become King so his plan is for Callum to become King, then use Rory to make Callum renounce his claim."

"I don’t like ****… didn’t realize this is what this book was. But it was very light and easy going. Extremely slow burn which was a good warm up for me. I was so into this story I couldn’t put the book down. I really didn’t want this story to end. Usually I race to the end of a book but I read this one slowly. I loved it so much I followed the author on Instagram. Can’t wait for book 2."
