"3.5/5 ⭐️ I really just picked this one up because the cover is so beautiful, and after reading it I’m kind of amazed that the cover so perfectly depicts how reading this book feels. This was such an intriguing read - escapist but not too fluffy with a little bit of Crazy Rich Asian vibes. This romance takes place on a matchmaking tour in Vietnam between an unlikely pair of seeming opposites. The setting of the story was absolutely stunning - the perfect backdrop to the budding romance, and I adored the ways Vietnamese culture was at the heart of the story. One of my favorite aspects of this book was watching the female lead connect with her heritage through this experience. The cast of characters was entertaining (if occasionally slightly frustrating), and I enjoyed reading about the friendships that formed. The romance was more of a whirlwind forbidden affair focused on mutual attraction (which is not my usual thing), but I liked that both leads felt fully fleshed out, each individually at a kind of crossroad and figuring that out alongside each other. I just liked so much about this book that even if the romance itself wasn’t a new favorite, the way the story was written as a whole still hit different."
