In every life there is a turning point . . .A moment so tremendous, so sharp and breathtaking, that one knows one's life will never be the same. For Michael Stirling, London's most infamous rake, that moment came the first time he laid eyes on Francesca Bridgerton.A fter a lifetime of chasing women, of smiling slyly as they chased him, of allowing himself to be caught but never permitting his heart to become engaged, he took one look at Francesca Bridgerton and fell so fast and hard into love it was a wonder he managed to remain standing. Unfortunately for Michael, however, Francesca's surname was to remain Bridgerton for only a mere thirty-six hours longer—the occasion of their meeting was, lamentably, a supper celebrating her imminent wedding to his cousin. But that was then . . . Now Michael is the earl and Francesca is free, but still she thinks of him as nothing other than her dear friend and confidant. Michael dares not speak to her of his love . . . until one dangerous night, when she steps innocently into his arms and passion proves stronger than even the most wicked of secrets . . .

"I’m not a big fan of regency novels but of all the Bridgerton books, this is by far the one that struck me the most. 6 years of waiting for your one true love. Michael and Francesca are wickedly perfect for each other. Julia Quinn writes the most romantic words that transports you the regency times. Nice story and plot 👍🏻"
"I loved the 2ed epilogue so much first of all. I loved it, it was much different from the first 5. It was bittersweet in some parts, but it of course has a happy ending. I’m glad she had 2 kids. It is much more sexual than the other books though, as Francesca was already a widow. I think the most bittersweet part of the book is when Janet sent a letter as the epilogue and said “Thank you Michael, for letting my son love her first."
"This is trash. This is pure, unadulterated historical romance trash. And I love it.

Julia Quinn excels at the romances that should not be written. Not because they involve a rapist and a man (The Duke and I) or a dumb woman and an even dumber man (The Viscount with Love). This, my dear good readers, is crack on paper.

Francesca is a ***** (in the girlboss way, I will never be sexist). Michael is already a *****, but does not do ***** things cause he loves a *****, and then gets used for his body, money, and title cause Francesca is so ******* touch starved. And then they argue with themselves for like 400 pages on whether or not they should ****, and then they inevitably do, and they they debate and the cycle continues.

The tension with loving John is always there, and then gets magically resolved when they make up a scenario where they *think* he will approve of them. And then they **** and **** and **** until they inevitably beat the **** out of Frannie’s infertility and get two children. And then they name the babies after the DEAD HUSBAND and the DEAD HUSBAND’S MOTHER.

Literature is so back y’all. Malala, thank you for keeping me in school just so that I can read this and scream out the insane plot with my friends."
"My favorite book of the series "
