The first book in Molly Harper's uproariously funny, sinfully sexy new Mystic Bayou series!Anthropologist Jillian Ramsay's career has taken a turn south.Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations. Mermaids and gator shifters swim in the bayou. Spirit bottles light the front porches after twilight. Dragons light the fires under crayfish pots.Jillian's first assignment for the League could be her last. Mystic Bayou is wary of outsiders, and she has difficulty getting locals to talk to her. And she can't get the gruff town sheriff, Bael Boone, off of her back or out of her mind. Bael is the finest male specimen she's seen in a long time, even though he might not be human. Soon their flirtation is hotter than a dragon's breath, which Bael just might turn out to be...This book is based on the Audible Original audiobook.

"It was a cute story. Some of the scenes were a little weird. I liked the characters but the plot was obvious. Feels more like YA but I will listen to the other books in the series on audible (for free with Prime) when I don’t know what else to listen to."

"How to Date Your Dragon *****/*****
#AudiblesPlus #Reviews

Triggers:
Troupes: All Magical Creatures, Enemies to Lovers

There isn’t much I can’t say about this book/ series. It is perfection! This book is funny, heartwarming, and attention getting. I adore Jillian and Bael, they are both super endearing and relatable even though one is human and the other is a dragon shifter. The side characters in the town and back at headquarters are great. I think my favorite side characters are Zed (Bear Shifter) and Sonja (Human). I super look forward to diving into the other 7 books in this series and it is ongoing so I hope that there are many more to come!

I honestly can say that Jillian and Bael are some of my favorite Hero/ Heroine coupling. Neither one had any annoying qualities. I love how Bael is crusty on the outside but mushy on the inside. The only thing I can think of that could be frustrating about Jillian is that she semi leaves her job for Bael in the end but really she ends up furthering her career by staying in the Mystic Bayou.

I love the idea of Mystic Bayou, inviting all Supernatural to town causing a very diverse population. So far for the series each book has had a different Supernatural at the helm. How to Date Your Dragon (Human/Phoenix and Dragon, Jillian and Bael), Love and Other Wild Things (Bear and Energy Witch, Zed and Dani), Even Tree Nymphs get the Blues (Nymph and Human, Ingrid and Rob), Selkies are a Girl's Best Friend (Selkie and Human, Will and Sonja), Always Be My Banshee (Banshee and Touch-Know Psychic, Brendan and Cordelia), One Fine Fae (Fae and (I think) Cursed Human, Charlotte and Leonard), and Shifters in the Night (Deer Shifter and Selkie, Lia and Jon). So as you can see this series covers many different Supernaturals, crossing multiple mythologies and including some of the lesser known creatures IE Kelpie, Kitsune, and many other kinds of shifters and supernaturals.

I think the best thing about this series is that it comes out first on Audibles, months before the book/ ebooks are read and the narrators are always Amanda Ronconi and Jonathan Davis. Amanda Ronconi is one of my all time favorite narrators and Jonathan Davis does a really good Cajan accent. BTW Amanda Ronconi narrates most (if not all) of Molly Harper’s books!

PS: If I would love to pick Molly Harper’s brain about how the Supernatural community dealt with the war of Southern Aggression and other human racial conflicts/wars since almost all of her series are set in the south.

Ebook:https://www.amazon.com/Date-Your-Dragon-Mystic-Bayou-ebook/dp/B07FTDJNZ3/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1RI3N1LJO1F5X&dchild=1&keywords=how+to+date+your+dragon&qid=1633333132&s=digital-text&sprefix=how+to+date+%2Cundefined%2C194&sr=1-1
Audiobook: https://www.audible.com/pd/How-to-Date-Your-Dragon-Audiobook/B078892NLF?ref=a_series_My_c5_lProduct_1_1&pf_rd_p=284b47b1-a5db-4711-9667-612f2ac7458e&pf_rd_r=F9YYE5HX5355CWRTBB20
Author’s Website: https://www.mollyharper.com/
Goodreads:"
