"I will give my thoughts later. I finished this at 4 a.m.

It's been a few days since I read this Hercule Poirot story. It takes a unique angle in the way it plays out. Unfortunately, I came across a spoiler, which made it easy for me to guess the murderer from the beginning. However, I did not expect Poirot to "let him go." Although that's not quite what happened, he kinda did. I also appreciated how Agatha Christie was able to make the murderer narrate the story. At first, I couldn't understand how they left the audience in the dark, considering these are his thoughts. He would have told us he was the killer in his narration. Then I realized that he was telling the story via his notes, which he showed to Poirot, and left out details on purpose. Overall, I gave the story four stars because of the spoiler, but I still enjoyed it."
"It feels wrong to give this three stars but I’ll explain. I’ve read a few Poirot mysteries before but I went into this knowing nothing about it except that many consider it to be Christie’s masterpiece. Whether it’s because she set a trend that continues to today or because I was expecting the unexpected, I guessed the murderer extremely early on. So when it was revealed, I had less of an “oh my god WHAT?!” response and more of a “ha, I knew it” response, which is arguably way less fun. Therefore, my reading experience was just okay. That being said, I absolutely recommend this one if you haven’t read it. Even if you end up in my camp, it’s a fun ride and, come on, it’s Agatha after all!"
"Very well written, amazing twist."
