M. R. Carey's Rampart trilogy is "an epic post-apocalyptic fable" (Kirkus) like no other, set in a world where nature has turned against us. Now, in the unforgettable final chapter, the world that was lost comes back to haunt those who have survived–and Koli's journey comes to its astonishing close."A gorgeous, borderline flawless trilogy." –Seanan McGuireWhat will the future hold for those who are left?Koli has come a long way since being exiled from his small village of Mythen Rood. "As far as YA dystopian series go, this was a pretty good one! The changes the world and population have undergone are interesting and the themes are classic and relatable applied to a unique story. "

"By far the best of the trilogy and most interesting and intense story of the three. It was a goodful ending and it was really interesting to see how the role of technology in society was flipped on its head by the end. The story overall explored some really cool ways to think of home, place, and identity. It just took til book three to get the message home. Again, the lore and world building was where the post-apocalyptic elements were held rather than in Koli's experience throughout the 3 books. "

"Not my favourite in the trilogy, but it was overall a good book. I missed the virtual girl accent though in the audiobook. The ending made me cry, and it has some good life lessons about making assumptions, forgiveness, and making the best of things. But I also found myself disappointed. I thought I knew how it was going to end for the last quarter, and then it didn't. I always knew from the title something was going to go badly for Koli, but it wasn't in the way I expected. I can't decide if the story wouldn't have been better, ala tin soldiers, if it had ended like I assumed."
"Loved the conclusion although totally unexpected ending. Loved it the whole series and sorry to end. I listened to the audiobooks and the narrators did such a great job with the devolved speech. "
