Experience Dungeons & Dragons as you’ve never experienced it before in this epic fantasy adventure set in the Forgotten Realms. Drizzt Do’Urden and Wulfgar embark on a perilous mission to rescue their halfling friend in this action-packed finale of the Icewind Dale Trilogy. Artemis Entreri has taken Regis back to his former master, Pasha Pook—but Drizzt Do’Urden and Wulfgar are fast on the assassin’s heels. Armed with the scimitar Twinkle, Drizzt defeats a banshee and acquires an enchanted artifact that masks its wearer’s true identity. With Drizzt now disguised as a normal elf, the duo continues their journey, traveling from Waterdeep to Baldur’s Gate, and beyond, in search of their friend. Meanwhile, Entreri is always one step ahead, aided by the magical gem Regis once stole from Pasha Pook. Together, Regis’ captors thwart Drizzt and Wulfgar’s mission at every turn, cornering them into battles with pirates, treks through the Calimshan deserts, and encounters with otherwordly monsters. But will it be enough to stop them from rescuing Regis? The Halfling’s Gem is the third book in the Icewind Dale Trilogy and the sixth book in the Legend of Drizzt series.

"I loved this series as a kid 20 years ago and all the books before this one I could overlook virtually any problem with the writing for the sake of my nostalgia and cause it's a really great story, especially the first few books. However... I don't even know where to start, but I zoned out a lot, tried repeatedly to rewind and absorb what just happened and zone out again. I don't do that with books that have me immersed in the story. also, I discovered something I dislike more than a Mary Sue MC, and that's 4 Mary sues in a group who are all just the swellest people ever... until they turn around and slaughter armies of intelligent beings without ever talking it out or feeling any remorse afterward.
That was way more harsh than I should be with how highly I've thought of the series the last 20 years (I don't remember which book burned out on, but I think I'm getting close if this wasn't the one).
I already have the next two books or so bought, and will read at least those, but I originally intended to keep reading to the current day stuff, so hopefully that plan works out."
