Rina Kent
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes a scorching standalone professor/student dark MM romance set in the world of Legacy of Gods. My darkness meets a darker soul. I'm a golden boy. A genius law student, the heir to the Carson empire, and the dutiful son. Or, at least, that's what it looks like from the outside. Deep inside, I have the urge to set the world on fire. I keep these impulses in check, rarely indulging in mayhem. Until one night of debauchery backfires, and I'm caught by a villain. I bury the entire ordeal with the rest of my skeletons. That is, until that night walks into my classroom in the form of my new professor. Kayden Lockwood. A criminal who's teaching criminal law. I can't expose what he's done without unmasking my secret life. What I can do, however, is force him to taste the poison he gave me. In the clash of titans, Kayden and I break and crumble. And I'm starting to realize this dangerous game may have no winners. Kiss the Villain is a dark MM romance. Please check the author's note or visit the website for content warnings before diving in. While this book can be enjoyed as a standalone, diving into the Legacy of Gods series will give you a deeper connection to the characters.

"So I will start off by saying this is not my first by Rina Kent. I’m familiar with her Legacy of Gods series as well as her Royal Elite series but I don’t really particularly like those books, with the exception of God of Fury. I find her writing repetitive and lacking fluidity or complexity, which you know, to each their own. But following God of Fury’s release I was very much anticipating her 2nd MM release and was hoping she would deliver as she did with GOF. And she did. I loved…loved this book. I saw many mixed reviews as well as reviews for her 3rd MM book about Vaughn, a character that we barely know anything about, thats not even out yet, simply because he had a “girlfriend” 💀 I mean the reviews for Kiss the villain wasn’t even because the book was bad it was simply because they hated that Rina was branching o it of the typical Alpha male x Flat insufferable female pattern. I’m not saying there weren’t instances and triggers within the book, because there were, which is why I don’t understand why anyone would read the triggers then proceed to read the books and still hate it. It just doesn’t make sense. However I don’t shy away from dark triggers, this book is in fact a DARK romance and not by any means the best book, the writings not exemplary but it was a fun easy entertaining read. I liked the characters and the plot could have been better but it wasn’t horrible. It was enough for a 4 star review so…yeah, if you’re not following the train of hating just because you hate an author not writing flat one dimensional female love interest and doing what THEY actually want then go ahead and read. Please read triggers before going in. That being said. I adore this book and cannot wait for Hunt the Villain (Vaughn and Yulian’s book)- Also to those who’s already hating on Vaughn book because it’s MM (please be sure to remember) Just because he had a girlfriend that CHEATED ON HIM, does not negate that he could be Bi-sexual. Bisexuals exist. Anyways#, I’m out. "
