"Anyone who was alive when John F Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 will gravitate toward this story, attracted by the potential of the characters to change the course of history and save Kennedy. Jake Epping enters a portal that places him back in 1958, where he inserts himself into multiple locations ultimately to meet and kill or thwart Lee Harvey Oswald’s rifle shot. Stephen King’s story drew me forward, but when I reached the final ten percent of the book, it seemed as if everything accelerated to an extreme point. I had to go back in and reread and I’m still unsure what happened. For that reason I gave the book four stars vs five stars. Fair warning: This book is a huge commitment of reading time. King keeps his focus on the main character and pushes the timeline forward, a refreshing approach to the confusing trend in this decade of peppering every story with multiple POVs and flipping time lines too often"
"An excellent candidate to show how intricately King’s mind can develop a plot line. "

""Love is a uniquely portable magic. I don't think it's in the stars, but I do believe that blood calls to blood and mind calls to mind and heart to heart."<br/><br/>This was my third attempt to read 11/22/63, and I finally succeeded! I haven't tried in 3 or 4 years, though, so I guess I just needed time. I did this as a buddy read with some friends on Instagram, and I am so grateful to them for doing this with me. <br/><br/>My main issue with why I couldn't complete this book before is because the beginning is not very exciting. I still agree with that. However, everything that happens after makes it worth it. <br/><br/>This is different than a lot of King novels, and I was really impressed with the amount of research that went into this story. It was so detailed, which is why it's so long. <br/><br/>The ending may have been a bit predictable, but I think everything wrapped up nicely. This ending could have been a shitshow, but everything balanced out well. <br/><br/>Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to try this book again - Sadie, Mindi, Jo, etc. Y'all were right 😂. 11/22/63 is a great story."
