"3.5⭐ This is the first Rina Kent book that I've read, and I have somewhat mixed feelings about it. I enjoyed most of it, but the plot felt a bit messy. Like, the idea of it was good, but the execution was just lacking something. I realize that Rina’s writing will probably improve in later books, so I'm more than willing to cut this novel some slack. I liked both Levi and Astrid, but I wasn't in love with either of them. Levi was obsessed and possissive, and despite his very obvious red flags, I did genuinely come to like him! When he wasn't busy being an asshole, he was actually kind of charming. Astrid was a complete doormat in the beginning of the book, but she did eventually grow a backbone and become an acceptable main character. I enjoyed the family drama and the slight mystery aspect of this book, but it was by no means wowing. This wasn't a soft, fluffy romance, but it also wasn't quite as dark and spicy as I had anticipated.
