Topic: Silver Elite

If any of you read it what are your thoughts ? This is the start of a new series. The premise is that there are Mods, people with special powers, that are being persecuted. The protagonist is a Mod young woman who has a lot of special powers. She gets in a situation where her best option is to train with her enemies to earn her way into a special military unit. I like a well executed academy trope. There is some spice and I found the twist to be rather obvious.

Sarah Ortinau I have it. Someone did say that it was basically Red Queen though, and that made me scared

Sarah Ortinau Okay, I’m 40 pages in….I’m withholding judgement, but it reads very similar to Red Queen

Brian strong Yes, there are similarities to Red Queen. The word smirking is not used as much, which is a peeve I had with Red Queen. I generally like the academy training trope, which this book has.

Sarah Ortinau The academy is okay…it’s entertaining to read, but it’s not my favorite, it feels a little flat? Also we must of read different copies because ever five seconds the main character Wren is saying “smirk”
