"A new and inventive entry in the horror genre, not an easy feat considering that most everything has been seen and done already.
I really appreciate the twisted scenes of "self-harm", they were quite shocking, so much so that I caught myself saying "Damn" out loud more than once. 😲
Definitely one of the better movies in this genre of 2023. Highly recommended for the horror fan that isn't squeamish. 9/10"
"This is a cool new take on the demon-summoning horror genre. The movie had me hooked in the beginning. I liked the slow build up and the reveal of a hand that conjures spirits. I didn't fully love the ending though. Some details of a past traumatic event felt unnecessarily vague to build tension between a rarely seen family member. I might have missed something, but I wasn't sure what exactly the spirits were after. These aren't major issues as it all makes sense.
Not sure if there's a sequel planned but I'd be down to find out more about these spirits and the realm they inhabit.
Overall, a solid horror movie with a unique hook and a great performance by the lead."

"Talk to Me (2023) is an exhilarating ride into the world of supernatural horror. Directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, the movie unravels the story of a group of friends who discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand. Naturally, their curiosity leads to chaos.
The film excels in creating a tense, atmospheric setting that keeps viewers on edge. The practical effects and makeup add a chilling layer of realism to the ghostly encounters. Sophie Wilde's performance as Mia stands out, delivering a raw and emotionally charged portrayal of a teenager confronting her fears.
While the movie keeps the audience engaged, it occasionally relies too heavily on jump scares. Some plot points feel a bit underdeveloped, leaving certain character arcs unresolved.
Overall, Talk to Me is a gripping horror film that successfully blends supernatural elements with psychological depth. It's a must-watch for fans of the genre. "
