"I love Marilyn Monroe in this film. She was the epitome of coquettish and sensual, but with such charm. She has some great comedic lines in this film. I saw on a documentary that Walter Matthau read for the role that eventually went to Tom Ewell. I am so glad he didn't get THAT role. Tom Ewell does a much better job of the goofy beaten-down-by-life Husband."
"The film was well made, and I appreciate the humor and irony of Richard’s thought process and behavior but GOD! He was insufferable. I’ve never watched a more narcissistic, delusional, perv before in my life. The man just loved to hear himself talk and if main character syndrome existed back then, he’d be considered patient 0. News flash Sherman: No one thinks about you as much as you do. The Girl doesn’t want you! In fact, I’m surprised your wife wants you. Also, how screwed up is it that he never learned the Girl’s name? Ugh. Well, I’m happy for Marilyn. At least she got a good night’s sleep and the AC she was craving."
"I am in love with the idea fo Marilyn monroe and the icon she is but I could not stand her acting and just found her to be annoying in this. I think overhyped myself for this one and was extremely underwhelmed. The white dress she wears in the duplex while.playing piano is more of a star then the white dress that is iconic in this film. The dream sequences and the fantasies were cool. There were several meta moments I suppose you could say."
