"Without a doubt, one of the best sequels I’ve seen in a very long time. It was laugh out loud hysterical and didn’t rely solely on nostalgia to keep the audience entertained. Of course, nods to Freaky Friday were there but they were natural segues to the plot as opposed to being forced. It was also impressive how they upped the stakes in this movie without taking away from what made the original brilliant. It still had that 2000s flair while maintaining a modern edge. The entire cast was fabulous, but my stand outs were by far Jamie Lee Curtis, Julia Butters and Manny Jacinto. Jamie had me in stitches. Omg I was crying at her physical comedy. This is the genre where she shines! Julia nailed Lindsay Lohan’s mannerisms and vocal cadences in a way that was stunning. Sometimes I genuinely thought it was Lindsay dubbing her when she was speaking. Julia also brought such a real vulnerability to Anna in Harper’s body especially in the rehearsal lunch scene. Finally, Manny was just a lovable leading man. NEED HIM IN A ROM COM ASAP. I frankly loved everything about it. The cast, the script, the nostalgia, the costumes, the cameos. "
"I liked the idea/concept of it and there were some heartfelt moments that almost made me tear up. But not enough to make me like it more than the first. I do appreciate that they managed to bring back most of the key cast and seeing them grown up I appreciated, as well as the tribute to Pinkslip, bringing back that fun iconic song but I don’t like how they remixed it. And I’m sorry, I can’t picture the dad (Manny Jacinto) to be anyone other than the dopey character Jason from The Good Place. His British accent was weird too in this but I’m glad he tried a different role outside of what I have seen him in."
"A hilarious sequel movie!!! It captured the essence of the original but it definitely stood out on its own!!! It is a super sweet and silly good time!!! I laughed out loud all throughout the movie!!! It was also amazing to see lots of the original cast members making an appearance throughout the movie!!! If you liked the original "Freaky Friday" then this is definitely worth a watch for sure!!!"
"Pleasantly surprised at much I ended up enjoying this. Maybe it was me going in with low expectations after all the flops they’ve had out lately with sequels but this one was actually good! I enjoyed the little Easter eggs in the movie (ex. her wedding date was Oct 3 IFYYK). Of course nothing will beat the original but I wouldn’t mind a double showing the next time I’m in the mood to watch the first. "
"Loved it!! Great family movie. As always Jamie Lee Curtis is so funny! She was the best one in the movie! Watch the first one if it’s been a long time because they continue the story & it’s just nice to remember some of the people & details. It’s been 22 years since the first one. I think the first one was best, but this was very close. It’s very funny! This one was a little more difficult to follow on the people swapping places, & that’s my only complaint. "
"This was pretty good for a sequel. The one from 2003 is still the best, but I thought this was funny. As usual Jamie Lee Curtis is hilarious. There are some moments that reference or mirror the first one, but also fun new ones. It’s nice that they were able to get all of the original cast members to come back for this. "
"It’s just what you expect. It’s fabulous. It’s funny. It’s entertaining and Jamie Lee Curtis is a goddess."
